Officers were called to the 7100 block of Old Landover Road at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning to investigate a reported shooting, and further investigation led to the grisly discovery of a dead body inside a vehicle in the 7400 block.
According to police, they are searching for multiple suspects who arrived at the initial scene and opened fire before fleeing in a vehicle.
No description of the suspects or vehicle has been provided.
The shooting is not believed to be random. Investigators are now working to establish a motive for the shooting.
Investigators made note that while the shooting was near a funeral home, it was not related in any way.
During the investigation, 75th Avenue was closed at Landover Road, as was the 7100 block of Landover Road.
